Electromagnetic fields in the milliTesla range increase circulation and improve blood and tissue oxygenation. They have been shown to help restore a healthy balance between the breakdown of bony tissue and its regeneration and to reduce the chronic inflammation which characterizes arthritis, osteoporosis and other rheumatic conditions. Most importantly perhaps, they have been shown to activate and stimulate osteoblasts, the cells which lay down bone, increasing the formation of healthy, new bone while also helping to prevent its further loss. Case Study – Osteoporosis

By 1/30/08, approximately 3 months after beginning pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF) and laser treatment, “Joan’s” bone density had increased by 0.5% at L1-L4, the area of severe osteoporosis. By 12/11/09 she had gained another 8.8% bone density in her lumbar spine. The system “Joan” used was the XP with a single, 20″ x 28″ therapy pad applied to the lumbar spine and hips daily or near daily. We believe the XPSE with a single therapy pad would likely have given even better results as 40 milliTeslas since it is at the top of the range reported to maximally stimulate the formation of new bone by Rubin et al , but either system may be a logical choice. To administer PEMF of 40 milliTeslas to both the upper and lower body simultaneously, a switch box is necessary, and two therapy pads might be placed, one above and another below. On the other hand, a single therapy pad may be all that is necessary to address the targeted area of bone loss, depending on its size.
The Curatron XPSE is equal in strength to the computerized PC system at peak intensity and, as such, may be ideal for the home, able to operate all available applicators at full strength, including the new Combination High Power, PEMF-LED Probe. Operation of the Curatron XPSE is easy. Connect the appropriate applicator to the control unit by its cable. Place the applicator under or over the area to be treated. Select one of the 10 built in therapy programs, and press Start. The system will go on standby automatically once the program has been completed.
The Curatron XPSE will operate the Combination High Power, PEMF-LED Probe by itself at full strength, or, with the optional Switchbox, any two of the following applicators simultaneously and at full intensity: Therapy Pad, Very High Energy Coil and Full Body Mattress. Highly recommended!
